How It
All Started
Cody Stoneback, founder of Unrestricted, never heard about Jesus until he was in college. When he gave his life to the Lord, everything changed, and he became passionate about making sure no high school student would graduate without having the opportunity to encounter the Gospel. As a public high school teacher, his burden for this generation only grew, and he came to a life-altering realization: schools are one of the greatest untapped mission fields. After five years of teaching, God gave him a vision—to gather students within their schools and activate them in the Great Commission.
In 2022, Cody and a group of students started dreaming about what it would look like to see high schoolers rise up and contend for their schools to be transformed by Jesus. That dream became reality with the first-ever Unrestricted gathering at Garden Spot High School, where nearly 300 students and five partner ministries came together to worship, pray, and believe for revival. That night was unforgettable—students wept in surrender at the front of the stage, lives were given to Jesus, and baptisms took place right on the front lawn of the district office. Seeing the power of God move so tangibly stirred something deep within Cody’s heart, marking the beginning of a movement.
Shortly after, students from other schools who had attended the gathering reached out, asking how they could host something similar in their own schools. This led to the birth of Unrestricted Schools, an initiative within Unrestricted that partners with students, churches, ministries, schools, and parents to host worship and activation gatherings where students can Encounter God and Engage with People. Through this movement, they are believing for an Acts 2:41 awakening in schools, where students are empowered to bring the Gospel to their peers and see their campuses transformed.
About The Founder
Cody Stoneback lives in Lancaster, PA, where he serves full-time as a missionary with Unrestricted. With a heart that burns to see the lost encounter Jesus, Cody is deeply committed to sharing the Gospel with those who have never experienced its power. He carries a strong passion for discipling the next generation and helping young people step confidently into their God-given purpose. For Cody, ministry isn’t just a role—it’s a calling that shapes every area of his life.
Alongside his wife, Cody is raising two incredible kids and building a life centered on faith, mission, and adventure. As a family, they are continually pursuing what it means to walk closely with the Lord in every season. Whether it’s hiking through a National Park, taking spontaneous road trips, or simply being present together at home, they value creating meaningful memories and cultivating a lifestyle of wonder and worship.
No matter where the journey takes them, Cody’s foundation is firm: to love God, love people, and be fully surrendered to wherever the Holy Spirit leads. He is all in—for the Gospel, for the next generation, and for the adventure of saying yes to Jesus.
